The World Commission on Environment and Development has been defined the term of sustainable development as “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” in its Common Future report, 1987. Sustainable development in terms of human is social; in terms of community, it is economic and cultural; in terms of environment, it is ecological. One of the most important target of social work is improving of quality of life and well-being of individuals and families by developing their life conditions.Therefore it is not rejected that social work’s role in supporting and receiving of sustainable development.In this point, it should indicate that social work how understands sustainable development as both scientific and profession area for evaluating contribution to sustainability. This study aims to explain a conceptual network about sustianable development perspective in social work. It explains economic development, social development, ecological development/eco-social work related to social work and sustainable development principles.
