Objective: This study investigated the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms, overweight and obese between male taxi drivers, aged 25-60 years, of a company in Belo Horizonte. It also investigated the relationship between these parameters. Methods: The sample comprised 20 participants, male, and taxi drivers. For evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders, the sampled answered the Nordic Musculoskeletal -QNSO -besides being assessed body composition, abdominal circumference, weight and height, all these to classify the person according to BMI. Results: In this study the values found for abdominal circumference had a mean of 92.2 cm, acceptable value considering the standard by the World Health Organization for Men in South America. With respect to body mass index, 70% of the sample is above the weight and the average BMI was 27.2 kg/m2. The prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms was 85% and there was no significant relationship between normal individuals and obese /overweight with these symptoms. Conclusion: Although the study population has shown very high BMI values, with 70% classified as overweight and obese, when examined whether there was an association between these and musculoskeletal symptoms, no significant results were found.
