Üsküp, sadece tabiî güzellikleriyle değil, yetiştirdiği yahut barındırdığı âlim, mutasavvıf, şair ve yazarlarıyla da tanınmış bir şehirdir. Hakîm Arab, Hâkî, Şeyh Lûtfullah, Muîdzâde, Zârî, Fakîrî, Ferîdî, Atâ, Özrî, Muîdî, Sihrî, İshak Çelebi, Hemdemî, Dürrî, Attâr, Hevesî, Mîrî-i Rûmî, Hüsâmeddin (Şeydâ), Riyâzî, Niyâzî, Tulûî, Şücâeddîn İlyâsî, Nâmî, Üskübî Mustafa, Vâlihî, Mehmed bin Mehmed, Şeyh Ömer, Fennî, Vesîm, Filintalızâde Hoca Mahmud… gibi pek çok kadı, müderris, mutasavvıf, şair ve hattat, burada doğmuş yahut buraya yerleşmiştir. 19. asrın ikinci ve 20. asrın ilk yarısında yaşayan Sâdeddin Sırrî (ö. 1936) de ismi Üsküple birlikte anılan mutasavvıf, şair ve yazarlardan biridir. Sâdeddin Sırrî’nin, ünlü hemşehrisi şair Yahyâ Kemâl’in (Beyatlı, 1884-1958) hem hususî hayatında, hem de sanatında kayda değer tesirleri olduğu bilinir. Bu makalede, yetişme çağındaki Ahmed Âgâh’a (sonraki ismiyle Yahyâ Kemâl’e) edebiyat, Farsça ve tasavvuf hususunda rehberlik ettiği bilinen Sâdeddin Sırrî’nin hayatı hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra, onun 1909-10 yıllarında Yıldız gazetesinde çıkmış bazı şiirleri ve mensur yazıları tanıtılıp incelenecek; anılan bahislerin ardından söz konusu eserlerin metinleri yeni harflere çevrilerek sunulacaktır.
