Abstract:

Ouml;ZET Osmanlı Devleti tarafından 1548rsquo;de ele geccedil;irilen Van şehri, Safevicirc;lere karşı askericirc;, siyasicirc;, sosyal, kuuml;ltuuml;rel, ideolojik ve stratejik uuml;s konumunda olduğu iccedil;in, Van Kalesinin guuml;neyindeki yaklaşık beş yuuml;z douml;nuuml;mluuml;k arazi surlarla ccedil;evrilerek, kurulan vakıflar marifetiyle yeniden inşa ve imar edilmişti. Ouml;zellikle XIX. Yuuml;zyılın ikinci yarısından sonra Ermenilerin ayrılıkccedil;ı faaliyetleri sebebiyle 1896 ve 1915 tarihlerinde ccedil;ıkan ayaklanmalar Vanrsquo;a yapılan buuml;tuuml;n yatırımları, tarihi eserleri, kent dokusunu, altyapısını, sosyal ve kuuml;ltuuml;rel tesisleri tamamen tahrip etmiştir. Bu guuml;n eski Van kenti bin yıllık harabelerin bulunduğu bir ouml;ren yeri gibidir. Owing to the rebellions of Seperatist Armenians after the second half of XIX th century, in whole city and cityrsquo;s tissues were destroyed. Also historical place, social and cultural institutions were damaged. Today Van City is like a site cosisting of ancient ruins.
