Abstract:

Ouml;Z Ahmet Mithat Efendi, Şemsettin Samirsquo;den sonra ikinci telif romanı yazan Tuuml;rk romancısıdır. Osmanlı Devleti accedil;ısından 18. Yuuml;zyıldan itibaren başlayan Mısır sorunu, 19. Yuuml;zyılda ouml;zellikle Kavalalı Mehmet Ali Paşa douml;neminde en karmaşık halini alır. 1517rsquo;de fethedilen; ancak 1882rsquo;de Osmanlı Devletirsquo;nin elinden ccedil;ıkan Mısır bu ilk romancılarımızın ilgisini ccedil;ekmiş ve Tanzimat douml;nemi romanlarında bu uuml;lkeye ait kimi konular işlenmiştir. Tanzimat romanında Mısır coğrafyası mekacirc;n olarak kullanılmış, roman yazarları ise romanlarının kimi bouml;luuml;mlerini Mısır, Mısırlılar veyahut Mısırrsquo;daki meselelere ayırmıştır. Ahmet Mithat Efendi de bir Tanzimat romancısı olarak Mısır konusuna bicirc;gacirc;ne kalmamıştır. Onun romanlarını Osmanlı uuml;lkesinin yaşayan halklarının siyasi, ekonomik, coğrafi, sosyal, psikolojik ve kuuml;ltuuml;rel tarihi olarak değerlendirdiğimizden makalemizde, Ahmet Mithat Efendirsquo;nin romanlarında Mısır coğrafyası ve Mısırlılar ele alınmıştır. In Ottoman Empire, Egypt affair which starts from 18. Century forms its most complicated situation especially in 19. Century. Conquered in 1517, but lost in 1882 from the authority of Ottoman Empire, Egypt attracted this first novelist of us and in the novels of Tanzimat age, same issued were discussed about this country. In the Tanzimat novels, Egypt territory was used as a place, novelists put aside some episodes of their novels for Egypt or Egyptians. As a Tanzimat novelist, Ahmet Mithat Efendi didnrsquo;t remain uninteresting in the issues of Egypt as well. Since we assess his novels as social, cultural, geographic, psychological and economic history of the people that lived in Ottoman Empire, in our treatise, in the novels of Ahmet Mithat Efendi, Egypt, Egypt affairs and Egyptians were taken in hand as a place factor.
