Ouml;Z İnsanlığın ilk zamanından beri ouml;luuml;m duuml;şuuml;ncesi gizemini korur. Sevilen birinin ouml;luuml;muuml;nuuml; kabullenmek kolay değildir. Kaybedilen kişinin ardından onu anmak ihtiyacı, her toplumda dışa vurulan, doğal bir ihtiyaccedil;tır. Tuuml;rk edebiyatında mersiyeler de bu doğal ve samimi ihtiyaccedil;tan meydana gelir. Genel anlamıyla mersiyeler, ouml;lenin ardından onu anmanın en zarif şeklidir. Bu eserlerle, değerli insanların tanınmasına katkıda bulunulduğu gibi douml;nem insanının ouml;luuml;m karşısındaki tutumu da gouml;zler ouml;nuuml;ne serilir. Bazı mersiyelerle kaybedilen şehirlere ağlanırken bazılarıyla da padişahtan istekte bulunulur. Ccedil;eşitli inanışlar, farklı tutumlar mersiyelerden ouml;ğrenilebilecek diğer bilgilerdendir. Ouml;zellikleri değişmekle birlikte mersiye tuuml;ruuml; guuml;nuuml;muuml;zde de varlığını suuml;rduuml;rmektedir ve sevilen insanların ouml;luuml;muuml; ardından, yaşayanların acısını hafifletmek iccedil;in varlığını suuml;rduuml;rmeye devam edecektir. Bu ccedil;alışmada, mersiyelerin ortaya ccedil;ıkışından itibaren Tuuml;rk edebiyatındaki gelişimi incelenmeye ccedil;alışılmıştır. It is not easy to accept death of someone who is loved. The need of commemoration somebody who is not alive is a natural need that is manifested in every society. Elegies in Turkish Literature occur from this natural and heartfelt need. In general meaning, elegies are the most graceful style of commemoration of dead people. By means of these works, talented people are assisted to become famous, the behaviour of the people lived in that period towards death can also be seen. In some elegies, it is cried for cities that have been lost and in some it is asked for something from sultan. Various believes and different manners are other information that will be able to be learned from elegies. Today elegy is still survive its existence by the changes in its characteristics and it will continue to exist to diminish the grief of living people after death of beloved people. In this study, it has been tried to be studied the development of elegies beginning from their appearance in Turkish Literature. Key Words: Death, Elegy, Turkish Literature.
