Abstract:

Ouml;ZET Yer adı bilimi her tuuml;rluuml; yer adını kouml;ken, anlam ve yapı bakımından araştıran bilim dalıdır. Tuuml;rkccedil;e yer adlarının yapısı buguuml;ne kadar yeterince ccedil;alışılmamıştır. Belirli bir uuml;lkenin ya da bouml;lgenin yer adları uuml;zerine yapılan ccedil;alışmalarda ise; yer adları iccedil;inde bulundurduğu kelime sayısı dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Yer adı bilimi araştırmaları, yer adlarının da diğer kelimelerle aynı ouml;zelliğe sahip olduğunu gouml;stermiştir. Sıradan kelimeler gibi onlar da bir anlama sahip olup dilin fonetik, morfolojik kurallarına uymaktadır. Bu sebeple yer adlarının kelime sayısı esas alınarak incelenmesi doğru bir yaklaşım değildir. Bunun yerine Tuuml;rkccedil;e yer adlarının ldquo;basit yapılırdquo;, ldquo;tuuml;remiş yapılırdquo; ve ldquo;birleşik yapılırdquo; olarak değerlendirilmesi daha doğru olacaktır. Eski Tuuml;rkccedil;e douml;nemi eserlerinde geccedil;en yer adlarının ve ccedil;ağdaş Tuuml;rk lehccedil;elerindeki yer adlarının birlikte ele alındığı bu makale sonucunda Tuuml;rkccedil;e yer adlarının gramer yapısında geccedil;mişten buguuml;ne ouml;nemli bir değişimin yaşanmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu durum Tuuml;rkccedil;e yer adlarının henuuml;z Eski Tuuml;rkccedil;e douml;neminde sağlam bir yapıya kavuştuğunun gouml;stergesidir. Turkic location names have not been studied and researched sufficiently. Research done in certain countries and regions appear to have utilized a method relying on the count of words or syllables contained in location names. Toponymy investigations have shown that location names carry the same characteristics as other words. Like ordinary words, these also exhibit unique meanings and fit the phonetic and morphologic rules. For this reason alone, the investigation of location names on the basis of word or syllables count is not a correct approach. Instead, in investigating Turkic location names, it appears to be a more effective method to utilize ldquo;simplex structurerdquo;, ldquo;derived(derivative) structurerdquo; and ldquo;combinatorial(integrated) structurerdquo; basis. Location names indicated in the works of Ancient Turkic period and contemporary Turkic dialects, when taken together, indicates that a significant change has not occurred since the earliest periods to our current era. This article concludes that Turkic location names have reached a strong linguistic character and structure during the earliest known periods of history.
