Aslında edebi sanatlardan ccedil;ok teknik bir beceri ve huuml;neri gerektiren bu ccedil;aba, pek ccedil;ok divan şairi tarafından sanat yapmak olarak telakki edilmiş ve ilgi gouml;rmuuml;ştuuml;r. "Ebced hesabı" da denilen bu konuya kafa yoranlar, bu tekniğin, Arap harflerinin kouml;keni ile yakından ilgili olduğunu souml;ylemişlerdir. İbracirc;nicirc;-Acirc;racirc;micirc; kouml;kenli olan Arap harfleri, kuşaktan kuşağa, bir geleneğin devamı olarak kullanılırken, kimi değişikliklere uğramasının yanı sıra, "ebced"le ilgili kimi masalların ve rivayetlerin de oluşmesına meydan vermiştir. Ancak "ebced"in temeli nbsp; ﺍ (elif) harfinden غ (gayn) harfine doğru ouml;zel olarak sıralanan 29 harfin her birine sayısal değerler verilmesi esasına dayanır. Bouml;ylece, ouml;zel olarak sıralanan harflerden oluşan kelimelerin rakam değeri, kastedilen olayın tarihini verir. Yahya bey, XVI. yuuml;zyılın ouml;nde gelen divan şairlerindendir. Divanında toplam 34 kasidesi vardır. Bu kasidelerden biri nalsquo;t'tır. 16 tanesi ise Kanuni Sultan Suuml;leyman'a takdim edilmiştir. Bu bakımdan şair, ccedil;ağına gouml;re Kanuni iccedil;in en ccedil;ok kaside yazan şairlerden biri sayılabilir. Yahya Bey, Kanuni Sultan Suuml;leyman'a takdim ettiği iki kasidesinin nesib (giriş) bouml;luuml;mlerinde Suuml;leymaniye camiini konu olarak ele almıştır. Bunlardan birinde camiin yapılış tarihi iccedil;in değişik "ebced" nbsp; hesapları ile tarih duuml;şuuml;ruuml;lmuuml;ştuuml;r. Biz bu yazımızda, on ayrı şekilde duuml;şuuml;ruuml;len bu tarihi gouml;stermeğe ccedil;alıştık. ABSTRACT The technique of encoding dates into words through the system of give a numerical value to every letter of the alphabet (a method ebced) has long been used in Turkish, Arabic and Persian literature of the purpose of keeping important historical events in continual view. Although it reguire technical nbsp; skill rather than literary artistry, many divan poets have regarded the technique as an art and been attracted to it. Specialist on "ebced" method explain that this tecnique is dosely related with the origins of lettrs. İbrani-Arami originated Arabic letters have been used as the continuation of a tradition from generation to generation and besides going through various changes, have led to the formation of several stories and tales about "ebced".However "ebced" is founded on the principle of giving a mumerical value to every letter of the 29 letter alphabet beginning with the letter ﺍ (elif) and ending with غ (gayn). Therefore, the numerical value of words made up of letters placed in a special oeder encode the date of the event in question. Yahya Bey is one of the leading divan poets of the sixteenth century. His divan consists of 34 kasides. One of these kasides is nalsquo;t. 16 of them are written for kanuni Sultan Suuml;leyman (Suuml;leyman the Magnificent). In this sense, the poet can be consideredto have written more kasides about Kanuni Sultan Suuml;leyman than most other poets of the period. In the introduction (nesib) part of two of these kasides, Yahya Bey writes about Suuml;leymaniye Mdsque. In one of these, the costruction ol the mosque has been encoded through tehe "ebced" method. In this parer, we have endeavoured to show ten different ways in which this date has been encoded
