Back in early times when Egypt was ruled by pharaohs, she was wife of a vizier, Potiphar. Lately, Zulaikha falls in love with Prophet Joseph who was bought by her husband at a slave market. This deep love revealed itself as an epic in the hands of great poets and became subject of Mathnawies in Persian, Arabic and Turkish languages, for centuries.
