There are only a few proposals concerning the localization of KUR Hulana-, “Hulana River Land” which is mentionedrarely in Hittite texts, although it plays a key role in strategical regard. The essencial difficulty as toitsexact localization is dueto its contradictory occurence in connection with two different geographic regions whic hare too far away fromeachother, namely Pala-Tumana and Kaškaterritory in the North on the one hand, and the position of the mountain Huwatnu wanta in the Lower Lands, in which the sources of the Hulana Riveroriginates, on the other. The geographiclay of the riverand a city of the same name, situating in its valleyor bank, stands in close relationship with the Huwatnu wanta mountain. This mountain is closely linked with Hittite Storm Godand is regarded as a holy mountain. The purpose of this study is to determine the localization of both Huwatnu wanta Mountain and Hulana River Land which is important in terms of historical geography of Central Anatolia. Some new comments will be made by studying the etymology of a few to ponyms which are mentioned in this connection. In addition Hittite text the passages which mention the River Land will be analysedagain and by taking in to account the proposals which were madepreviously, some new proposals will be added here Key Words: Hittites, The Geography of the Hittites, Wool River Land, Hulana River Land, Huwatnuwanta Mountain. ---------------------- - BELLETEN, 288, Cilt:LXXX-Sayı:288-Yıl:2016 Ağustos Yazdır Geri 100.
