Abstract:

Ouml;zet: Bu ccedil;alışmada, Doğu Karadeniz Bouml;luuml;muuml;rsquo;nde yer alan, Artvin iline bağlı Şavşat ilccedil;esinde, bir ev eklentisi olan merek konu edilmiştir. Youml;rede, iccedil;erisine ot ve saman gibi hayvan yemleri konulan ve ccedil;oğunlukla ahşap malzemeden yapılmış ev eklentisine merek denir. Gerccedil;ekten de mereklerin yapımında neredeyse yuuml;zde yuuml;ze varan oranda ahşap malzeme kullanılmıştır. Merekler daha ccedil;ok hayvancılık faaliyetine bağlı olarak ortaya ccedil;ıkmıştır. Genelde iki katlı ve evden ayrı olarak inşa edilirler. İccedil;erisine ccedil;oğunlukla ot konulduğu iccedil;in, youml;rede hemen her otlak (ccedil;ayır) alanının yanı başında bir ya da birkaccedil; merek bulunur. Bu durum, bazı mereklerin evlerden yuuml;zlerce metre uzakta yer almasına da neden olmuştur. Diğer taraftan, mereklerin yapımında ccedil;oğunlukla ahşap malzeme kullanılması, youml;redeki ormanların, ouml;zellikle geccedil;miş douml;nemlerde, tahribatında ouml;nemli etkenlerden biri olmuştur. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Abstract The subject of this study is ldquo;Merekrdquo; which is an additional part of house in Şavşat, a town of Artvin, in Eastern Black Sea Region. Merek is a closed place which is mostly made from wood and which consists of herbe and hay. The reason for building a merek from wood is the moist climate of the area and the enistance of rich forests. Merek resulted from a need in animal raising. It is generally of two floors and is seperate from the house. Since mostly herb is placed in it, there is one or more of it by an area of herb. This is why some of them are hundreds of meters away from the houses. The building material of merek being wood is among the causes of forest destruction in the area especially in the past.
