Rumlar, Türk ordusunun Sakarya Zaferi sonrasında cephedeki gelişmelerle ilgili tam manasıyla bilgi sahibi olmasalar da işlerin Yunan ordusu için iyi gitmediğinin farkındaydılar. Yunanistan’ın Anadolu’yu terk edeceği söylentilerinden tedirginlik duyarak Rum erkekleri, Yunan ordusunun çekilmesi halinde direniş gerçekleştirmek amacıyla “Helen Anadolu Savunma Örgütü’nü [Elliniki Mikrasiatiki Amina (EMA)]” kurmuşlardır. Bu gelişmeyi “Anadolulu Rum Kadınlar Savunma Örgütü’nün [Amina Ellinidon Mikrasias (AEM)]” kurulması takip etmiştir. Makalemizin amacı Rum kadınların bu örgütünü gün yüzüne çıkarmak ve Mart-Ağustos 1922 tarihleri arasındaki faaliyetlerini İzmir Rum basın organlarından Amalthiya, Estia, Tharros, Patris ve Sinadelfos gazetelerinden yararlanarak ortaya koymaktır. Anadolulu Rum Kadınlar Savunma Örgütü, Helen Anadolu Savunma Örgütü’ne ve Yunan ordusuna destek sağlamak amacıyla kurulmuş, merkez olarak İzmir’deki Omirion Kız Okulu’nu kullanmıştır. Örgüt kurulduktan sonra Anadolu’daki Rum kadınlarına ait pek çok cemiyet, örgütün şubeleri haline gelmiştir. Örgüt Anadolu’daki Yunan askerlerinin ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak üzere ianeler gerçekleştirerek yardımlar toplamış, aynı zamanda Yunanistan ve batılı devletlerdeki kadın kuruluşlarıyla diyalog kurmuş ve destek arayışına girmiştir. Omirion Kız Okulu’nda örgüt üyeleri tarafından Yunan askerleri için kıyafetler dikilmiştir.
The Romans knew that the Turkish army had not been fully aware of the developments on the front after the Sakarya victory, but they knew that the things didn’t go well for the Greek army. Angry about the rumors that Greece will leave Anadolu, the Romans have established the "Helen Anadolu Defense Organization [Elliniki Mikrasiatiki Amina (EMA)]" in order to carry out resistance if the Greek army is withdrawn. This development was followed by the establishment of the "Anadolulu Rum Women Defense Organization [Amina Ellinidon Mikrasias (AEM)]". The purpose of our article is to bring this organization of Rom women to the face and to reveal their activities between March and August 1922 by using the Amalthiya, Estia, Tharros, Patris and Sinadelfos newspapers from the Izmir Rom press bodies. The Anatolulu Rum Women’s Defense Organization, founded with the aim of supporting the Helen Anadolu Defense Organization and the Greek army, used the Omirion Girl School in İzmir as its center. After the organization was established, many communities belonging to the Rom women in Anatolia have become branches of the organization. The organization has gathered aid by carrying out initiatives to meet the needs of the Greek soldiers in Anatolia, and has also dialogue with women’s organizations in Greece and the Western states and has entered in the search for support. The Omirion Girl School was dressed for Greek soldiers by members of the organization.

This development was followed by the establishment of the “Anatolian Greek Women Defense Organization [Amina Ellinidon Mikrasias (AEM)]”. The aim of our article is to reveal this organization of Greek women and to expose their activities between March-August 1922 by using Izmir Greek press organs Amalthiya, Estia, Tharros, Patris and Sinadelfos newspapers. Anatolian Greek Women Defense Organization was established to support the Hellenic Anatolian Defense Organization and the Greek army, it used the Omirion Girl’s School in Izmir as its center. After the establishment of the organization, many societies belonging to Greek women in Anatolia became branches of the organization. The organization gathered aid by carrying out donations to meet the needs of Greek soldiers in Anatolia, at the same time, established a dialogue with women’s organizations in Greece and western states and asked their support. At the Omirion Girls’ School, clothes for Greek soldiers were sewn by members of the organization.
