Bayburt çevresinde “Bayburt Taşı” olarak tanımlanan tüf türü, bölgede endüstriyel hammadde olarak sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Bu taşlar beyaz, yeşil ve sarı olmak üzere üç farklı çeşitten oluşmaktadır. Bilindiği gibi son yıllarda düşük maliyetli ve temin edilmesi kolay doğal hammaddelerin atık sulardan çeşitli kirleticileri uzaklaştırmada adsorban olarak kullanılması oldukça önemli bir konu haline gelmiştir. Bu kapsamda, yeşil Bayburt taşının absorban özelliği çok ince bir boyuta (d50=13,20 µm) öğütüldükten sonra istatistiksel deney tasarımı yöntemlerinden Taguchi deney tasarımı kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmalarda model ağır metal olarak kobalt (Co) elementi seçilmiştir. Yeşil Bayburt taşının optimum adsorpsiyon parametre değerleri pH için 7,0, başlangıç metal konsantrasyonu için 250 mg/L ve adsorban miktarı için ise 0,250 g olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda çalışılan adsorbanın Co(II) için adsorpsiyon kapasitesi qe=60,16 (mg/g) olarak hesaplanmış olup bu değerin literatürdeki pek çok çalışma ile karşılaştırılabilir nitelikte olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Investigation Of The Use Of Green Bayburt Stones As Adsorbent By Statistical Experimental Design

Abstract:

The tuff type, which is defined as Bayburt Stone in Bayburt region, is frequently used as industrial raw material in the region. These stones consist of three different varieties; white, green and yellow. As it is known, in recent years, the use of low-cost and easy-to-supply natural raw materials as adsorbents for removing various pollutants from wastewaters has become a very important issue. In this context, the adsorbent characteristic of green Bayburt stone was investigated by using a Taguchi experiment design which is one of the statistical experimental design methods after milling to very small dimensions (d50=13.20 µm). In the experimental studies cobalt (Co) element was selected as a model heavy metal. The optimum adsorption parameter values of green Bayburt stone were determined as 7 for pH, 250 mg/L for initial metal concentration and 0,250 g for adsorbent dose. According to the findings, adsorption capacity of the adsorbent for Co(II) was calculated as qe = 60.16 (mg/g), and this value was found to be comparable with many studies in the literature.
