Abstract:

This study is aimed at comparing the status of athletics of students entering the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Faculty of Fine Arts with the Faculty of Economic Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Sciences and Literature entering the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Faculty of Fine Arts. The research technique was used in two sections. In the first part, the questions that the participants were asked about their demographic characteristics, and in the second part, the scale of "Rathus Athletics Inventory", which was developed by Rathus (1973) for the purpose of measuring the initiativity in interpersonal relationships and adapted to the Turkish by Voltan (1980) consisted of 30 items and 6 optional liquor types. For the determination of the demographic characteristics of the participants, the frequency analysis, Skewness and Kurtosis tests were performed to determine the adequacy for normal distribution of scales. Data collection tools consisted of students studying at Atatürk University in 2019 and were applied to a total of 256 students, including 135 men and 121 women. The results of the analyses were found that the state of devolutions (-0.28), (.978) were not differentiated by gender and the total score of devolutions. In addition, in terms of the mother's career variation, the status of athletics and the total score (.014) of the public staff found significant differences in favour of the participants.
