In this study, how students perceived the effect of various school variables considered as efficient on their success and/or failure upon student success was emphasized. In this sense, basic school variables that affected the success of students were grouped under 4 sub-dimensions as “environment/climate of the school,” “manner of students towards the students,” social potential of the students,” and “physical structure of the school and attitude of school managers.” The research was descriptive and screening model based because of aiming to explain the relationships between the cases and whether the relationships changed according to some variables. The study group of the research included 420 high school students studying at İlksan Anatolian High School in 2016-2017 academic year. The data were analyzed performing statistical processes such as arithmetic average, t-test, one-way ANOVA, frequency, percentage and standard deviation. As result of the analyses, it was determined that the highest average was on manner of teachers towards the students when the answers of the students for each dimension were analyzed. Furthermore, it was concluded that the views of the high school students related to the effect of school variables upon student success differed significantly in terms of gender in favor of female students and level of grade. Offers were suggested in accordance with obtained results.
