Throughout history, societies have affected each other for various reasons such as neighborhoods, social and cultural changes, conquests and invasions. Language is one of the most important areas in which these effects are manifested. Among the languages used by societies, there were also influences; borrowed from each other words, additions, have taken and gave phrases. Turkish language also, throughout its long history, it has been influenced by this interaction and after the adoption of Islam by Turks, the influence of Arabic on scientific language and Persian on literature language has been seen intensively. The efforts to determine the vocabulary of Turkish, which we could start from the 19th century, were carried out within a system and institutionally in the Republican era. In this context, studies were started in 1935 with the aim of preparing a dictionary containing Turkish words that are not used today or whose meaning is used differently. Within the scope of these studies, the works written from the 13th century to the 19th century were searched. 160 works for The Scanning Glossary with Evidences, which were prepared in the first phase of the said studies; 67 (a total of 227) works were searched for The Scanning Glossary with Evidences, which includes the data of the previous phase. Vankulu Lugatı, which we concluded that was not included in the first pages of The Scanning Glossary with Evidences, was not included in the list, and examples of Turkish vocabulary contained in this vocabulary are the subject of this study. Vankulu Lugatı is a translation of one of the most important dictionaries of the Arabic Language, es-Sıhâh, written by al-Farabi Jawhari, into Ottoman Turkish in the 16th century. In addition, it was the first work of the printing house which was established by İbrahim Müteferrika during the Ottoman period. It is possible to say that Vankulu Lugatı is a work that can be subject to screening in terms of being a dictionary containing some of the Turkish words, word suffixes, and usage of the period in which it was written.
