Germany represents one of the original fields of thought, art and economic perspectives for the history of Europe as well as for the world history. In this field, considering the process of building German identity, it is believed that the language and cultural elements have a significant dimension. Though the 1930s, when German nationalism and National Socialism entered into, showed a race-based perspective, the determination of cultural elements in the general picture has also had an unbearable effect. This study also aims to analyze the relevant elements. This is a cultural anthropological landscape. The historical and current focus on the definitions of "we" and "other" in the German identity is evaluated through cultural codes. Especially with the issue of immigrants, the clarification of these codes has been seen as an important development.
