Abstract:

Volunteering is a phenomenon that continues to exist everywhere in the world at a universal level. It is one of the most basic ways of human behavior from the past to today. Volunteering is that people carry out various activities aimed at the development of both individuals and society without a direct wage expectation. Therefore, the benefits created by volunteering can be assessed both individually and socially. There are many motivations behind individuals being volunteers, and the study of these motivations contributes to the development of volunteering. In order to understand both the causes and consequences of volunteering, trying to explain all the activities in this field with the same theory or addressing the results of all the activities in the same level will probably not bring the correct result. In this context, understanding certain basic theories used in the field of volunteering will help to understand the conceptual and theoretical diversity of the field of volunteering. As a result, the purpose of this study can be expressed as to explain the relationship between the theories used in the field of volunteering through volunteering activities, and to reveal the relationship between practice and theory in the field of volunteering.
