Çeviri süreci üzerine çeviri kuramlarından, stratejilerinden ve kimi çeviribilim öncülerinin fikirlerinden yararlanılıp incelemeler yapılmış olsa da, bir çevirmenin çeviri sürecinde karakterlerle özdeşleşmesinin çeviriye yansımaları ve çevirmenin bu süreçteki ruh hali, duygusal zekâsı gibi psikolojik durumları üzerinde çok fazla durulmamıştır. Dolayısıyla çevirmenin psikolojik durumu çeviri çalışmalarında önem arz eden ve üzerinde durulması gereken bir konu olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bilhassa karakterlerinin kendine özgü dil ve ruhsal özellikleri olan bir yazın eseri söz konusu olduğunda, çeviribilim alanında çevirmen psikolojisine farklı bakış açıları getirecek örneklemlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu düşünceden yola çıkarak adı yeraltı edebiyatı ve Beat kuşağıyla anılan Philippe Djian’ın Betty Blue adlı kült romanının efsanevi karakteri Betty’nin ruh hali ve ifadelerinin böylesi bir çalışma için uygun bir örneklem olduğu düşünülmektedir. Böylece bu çalışmada, kişilik yapısı incelemelerinde öncü bir kuramcı olan Carl Gustav Jung’un Psikolojik Tipleri’ne ve kişilik üzerine kullandığı kavramlara göre çevirmenin psikolojisini ön plana çıkaracak Betty’nin davranışları ve ifadeleri belirlenecektir. Bu ifade ve davranışların Fransızcadan Türkçeye çeviri süreçlerindeki çevirmen psikolojisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca çeviri sürecinde karakterin ruh haliyle özdeşleşebilecek derecede güçlü bir duygusal zekâya sahip olan çevirmenlerin, çeviri sürecinde aldıkları kararlara psikoloji kuramları çerçevesinde çeviribilimsel bir inceleme sunmak hedeflenmektedir.
Although the translation theories, strategies and ideas of some of the advancers of translation have been used and studied on the translation process, a translator’s identity with the characters in the translation process has not been much focused on the translation reflections and the mentality of the translation in this process, emotional intelligence and psychological conditions. Therefore, the psychological state of translation appears as a subject of importance in translation studies and should be focused on. Specifically, when it comes to a summer work with its own language and spiritual characteristics, examples are needed to bring different perspectives to the translator psychology in the field of translation. From this thought, the name underground literature and the legendary character of the cult novel Betty Blue by Philippe Djian, referred to as the Beat generation, Betty's mood and expressions are thought to be a suitable example for such a work. Thus, in this study, the behaviors and expressions of Betty will be determined, which will put the psychology of translation in front of the psychological types and concepts used by Carl Gustav Jung, a leading theorist in personality structural studies. The purpose of these expressions and behaviors is to study the translator psychology in the translation processes from French to Turkish. It is also intended for translators with a strong emotional intelligence that can be identified with the mood of the character in the translation process to provide a translatable review of the decisions they make in the translation process within the framework of the psychological theories.
