Abstract:

The concept of emotional intelligence has attracted researchers' intense interest in the description of human behavior in recent years. The main objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between high school students’ emotional intelligence levels and academic achievements. The universe of the research is formed by Karaman Turkey Chamber and Stock Exchange Association Science High School, Karaman Bifa Anadolu High School and Karaman Temizel Famous Professional and Technical Anadolu High School, with a total of 563 students. The Emotional Intelligence Inventory, developed by Reuven Bar-On to determine students’ emotional intelligence levels, has been used to identify students’ academic achievements with a general focus score average. The analysis used T test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and correlation techniques. The statistical significance level is considered p<0,05. Some of the research findings can be summarized in this way. The level of emotional intelligence of students with a high average weight score was also high. The findings have been found that the level of emotional intelligence of the students of the Anadolu High School is higher than the level of the students of the Anadolu High School, and that this difference is also in favour of the students of the Anadolu High School and the students of the Anadolu High School. Moreover, the emotional intelligence levels of girls were found higher than the emotional intelligence levels of boys.
