Abstract:

Today, there are many problems that have a negative impact on the lives of humans and other beings. Because it causes problems and is affected by problems, the attitudes of people towards the problems of today’s world are very important. This study aims to reveal whether individuals’ attitudes towards today’s world issues and whether there is a meaningful relationship between age groups, gender, income level and followed news sources. The study group consists of 240 individuals of different ages living in the province of Sivas. The research was carried out with a screening model. The data collection tool was used as the "Today's World Problems Attitude Scale". The statistical analysis of the study was carried out with the SPSS 25 program. As the data related to the scale-dependent variable did not show normal distribution at the level of each variable, nonparametric statistics were applied and the analysis of the data used visual statistics, Mann Whitney U test for unrelated sampling and Kruskal Wallis H test techniques. The research finds that there is a meaningful relationship between the age groups and gender variation among individuals and their attitudes towards today’s world issues, and there is no meaningful relationship between income levels and news sources they follow, and there is no meaningful relationship between their attitudes towards today’s world issues.
