Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to determine the attitudes and opinions of teachers working in the Kars province towards the teaching profession. The qualitative universe of the research is made up of a total of 1301 teachers who work in pre-school, primary, secondary and high school in 128 schools located in Kars and the villages in the 2018-2019 educational year. In the quality study group of the research, the maximum variety of sampling techniques from the purposes of sampling methods were used. Accordingly, schools with different socio-economic characteristics have different characteristics (gender, age, age, etc.) There were 42 faces-to-face conversations with teachers in which open end questions were asked. The study was conducted by 458 teachers and managers. In order to determine the professional attitudes of teachers during the research, the "Teacher's Attitude Measurement" was developed by Ünişen and Demirel (2018) and composed of 28 articles. According to the findings of the study, women teachers have more positive appreciation and disinterest perceptions than men teachers, teachers have a significant difference in age between the perception levels of the scale of disinterest, 26-30 years old teachers have a more positive perception of disinterest than 41 years old teachers, teachers have a significant difference between the perception of professional disinterest and the perception of managers, teachers have a higher perception of professional disinterest than managers, and teachers have a higher perception of disinterest than managers. The majority of teachers willingly choose this profession for social and cultural reasons, that the teaching profession does not see the value it deserves, that the profession is losing reputation and value, that there are deficiencies in cases such as property rights, wages and means-to-wage materials, that the career and reward system are not functional.
