Abstract:

This research’s aim is to examine levels of high school students attending at different grade levels of science and art centers and project schools in Bursa on offence related feelings of shame and guilt and self confidence. This research is descriptive research in survey model. A quantitative research design was used. According to the statistics of 2021-2022, the research sample consists of 705 high school students attending at science and art centers and project schools in Bursa. Since the research was aimed at high school students attending at science and art centers and project schools in Bursa, a purposeful sampling method was used and volunteerism was taken as a basis. As data collection tools Personal Information Form, Offence Related Feelings of Shame and Guilt Scale and Self Confidence Scale were used in the research. It is seen that students' perceptions of offence related feelings of shame and guilt about a mistake and their sub-dimensions of shame and guilt differ statistically according to gender, and female students' levels are higher than male students. It is seen that the students' perceptions on offence related feelings of self confidenceand shame and guilt do not differ statistically significantly according to their attendance to Bilsem. It can be said that there is a low-level negative relationship between self confidence and offence related feelings on shame and guilt. So we can say that, the self confidence of the students increases, their offence related feelings of shame and guilt decrease, and as the self confidence decreases, the offence related feelings of shame and guilt increase.
