Ebelik öğrencilerinin mezuniyet öncesi dönemde bilgi ve uygulama bakımından yeterlilikleri konusundaki görüşleri

Abstract:

Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı ebelik öğrencilerinin mezuniyet öncesi dönemde bilgi ve uygulama bakımından yeterlilikleri konusundaki görüşlerini incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma niteliksel olarak 18 ve 28 Şubat 2019 Tarihlerinde Aydın Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Ebelik Bölümü son sınıf öğrencileri ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya 55 öğrenci davet edilmiş ve görüşlerini bildiren 30 öğrencinin verileri değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan öğrencilerin bilgi ve uygulama becerisi bakımından yeterliliklerini sorgulayan soru formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin bilgi yönünden yeterlilikleri hakkındaki görüşleri yeterli bilgi (n= 19), geliştirilmeli/ güncellenmeli (n= 9) ve kısmen yeterli (n= 4) alt temalarından oluşan “olumlu görüşler” ile yetersiz bilgi (n= 13) ve uygulamaya entegre edilememe (n= 16) “olumsuz görüşler” temaları altında toplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin uygulama yönünden yeterlilikleri konusundaki görüşleri ise yetersizlik algısı (n= 26), eğitim süreci ile ilgili olumsuzluklar (n= 19), idari engeller (n= 7), uygulama alanına ilişkin olumsuzluklar (n= 5) ve geleceğe ilişkin endişe (n= 5) alt temalarından oluşan “olumsuz görüşler” ile çalışmaya başladığında gelişebilir (n= 5), yaz stajının katkısı (n= 5) ve yeterli hissetme (n= 1) alt temalarından oluşan “olumlu görüşler” temaları altında toplanmıştır. Sonuç: Sonuç olarak bu çalışmada, ebelik öğrencilerinin mezuniyet öncesi dönemde bilgi bakımından yeterlilikleri konusunda daha çok olumlu görüşe sahip iken, uygulama bakımından olumsuz görüşe sahip oldukları sonucu elde edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlara dayalı olarak, ebelik eğitici ve okul yöneticilerinin eğitim sistem ve ortamlarını gözden geçirmeleri ve eğitimi destekleyecek biçimde düzenleme yapmaları ile ebelik eğitiminin ve dolayısı ile anne-bebek ve toplum sağlığının gelişimine katkı sağlanabilir.

The views of students on their qualifications in terms of knowledge and practice in the pre-graduate period

Objective: The purpose of the study is to study the views of pregnancy students on their skills in terms of knowledge and practice in the pre-graduate period. Tools and Methods: The research was carried out qualified on 18 and 28 February 2019 with the final class students of the Ebelik Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Aydın Adnan Menderes University. 55 students were invited to the study and 30 students who their opinions were taken to evaluate the data. The data was collected with a question form that questioned the students' skills in terms of knowledge and application skills prepared by researchers. In the analysis of data, the content analysis method was used. Results: Opinions on the knowledge-related qualifications of the students involved in the study were collected under the topics of sufficient information (n=19), develop/update (n=9) and partially sufficient (n=4) sub-themes, with "positive opinions" with insufficient information (n=13) and non-integration (n=16) "negative opinions". Students’ opinions on their practical skills can develop when they begin to work with the sub-themes of insufficiency perception (n=26), the negatives related to the educational process (n=19), the administrative obstacles (n=7), the negatives related to the field of application (n=5) and the concern about the future (n=5) and the sub-themes of "positive opinions" (n=5), the contribution of the summer internship (n=5) and the sub-themes of "positive opinions" (n=1) of sufficient feeling. Result: As a result, this study found that pregnancy students had a more positive view on their knowledge-related qualifications in the pre-graduate period, while they had a negative view on their practice. Based on these findings, pregnancy educators and school managers can review their educational systems and environments and make arrangements in a way that supports education and contribute to the development of pregnancy education and thus the mother-baby and community health.

Opinions Of Midwifery Students On Knowledge and Practice Competency At The Before Graduation

Aim: The research was carried out with the aim of examining the opinions of midwifery students about their competence in terms of knowledge and practice in the period before graduation. Material and Method: The research was carried out qualitatively on February 18 and 28, 2019 with Aydın Adnan Menderes University Health Sciences Faculty Midwifery Department senior students. The sample of the study consisted of 30 students who agreed to participate in the study and gave their opinions. Data were collected by a questionnaire questioning the competencies of students prepared by the researcher in terms of knowledge and application skills. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. Results: Opinions of students participating in the research about their competence in terms of professional knowledge and practice were collected under the themes of positive and negative opinions. Students’ opinions about their competence in professional knowledge took place under the sufficient information (n= 19), should be developed/updated (n= 9), partially sufficient (n= 4), insufficient information (n= 13) and inability to integrate into practice (n= 16) themes. The students’ opinions on the competencies in terms of implementation were collected under the perception of inadequacy (n= 26), negativities related to the education process (n= 19), administrative barriers (n= 7), negatives related to the field of application (n= 5), anxiety about the future (n= 5) can develop when it starts working (n= 5), the contribution of summer internship (n= 5) and feeling sufficient (n = 1) themes. Conclusion: In this study, it was obtained that midwifery students have more positive opinions about their knowledge competence and negative about their application competencies before graduation. Based on these results, it might be suggested that midwifery educators and school administrators re-evaluate their education systems and environments.
