Terrorism, unlike mass murder and genocide, aims to scare the masses and society by carrying out violent acts, and to give political messages to greater masses beyond the victims of the incident. Political psychology studies the relationships and interactions that individuals, groups, nations, leaders develop with each other. This study studies the political psychology of terrorism. Terrorism may also be personal causes as social causes. As societies’ past trauma, historical and political experiences, cultural structures affect future political elections, the same way individual experiences affect the future of individuals. In this regard, political psychology argues that situations should be addressed both on the social scale and individually. In other words, the political psychological attitudes of individuals are not independent of the society in which they are. Similarly, the common history of societies is not independent of individuals. Therefore, while the political psychology of terrorism is also studied, it is necessary to study both the individual and the society separately, and also to deal with both together. Sometimes the problems that a person is experiencing in early adolescence, family traumas are effective in the formation of terrorism of individuals, while sometimes the terrorism of the groups under pressure by the state can be seen as the only way out. In this study, the political psychology of terrorism was studied.
