Abstract:

The miraculous birth motif is described in a unique way in the texts of narratives, along with other genres. In order to miraculously interpret the process of birth, some of the characters in the narratives become the object of research. As it is mentioned, in our folklore, a wide range of material about the character Hal,who changed the nature of the birth, is preserved in the form of narrative texts, and the narrators speak of Hal as the heroes of the story. The image of Hal-Al, which is considered a demonic being, is believed to be dangerous at birth or on the eve of birth, and has the ability to influence the process. Sometimes visible, sometimes invisible, it creates miracles; they realize the miracle of a miraculous birth by destroying either the woman or the infant. Legendary texts about her marriage to people and even about the birth of a child are part of this motive.Traces of the miraculous birth motif have been found in the narratives dedicated to historical figures - commanders, clergy, prophets. By giving examples, it is mentioned that there is a miraculous birth motive in this type of narration. In Azerbaijani folklore, a miraculous birth motif is found in some of the texts about prophets. According to some examples, the birth of people who were raised to the level of prophets took place in an unusual way.In some narrations, the motive for a miraculous birth was mainly related to the pir and pir owners who gave birth. The nattatives describing the saints who tried to solve the problem of infertility by the miracle of procreation of infant have become the subject of research.
