Prophethood, which is one of the main pillars of Islamic creed, refers to the transmission of God Almighty’s message to people through messengers. Prophets, who are the messengers of God, are distinguished servants and had been sent as both examples and leaders for people. For this reason, prophets are frequently mentioned in the Qur’ān and they are described with many different attributes. Knowing these attributes in the Qur’ān plays a complementary role in the formation of the identity and personality of a believer in terms of both belief and morality. In this context, it is significant to determine the attributes of Prophet Abraham mentioned in the Qur’ān and to determine the behavioral patterns they contain. As an important role model for believers, Prophet Abraham is characterized by many attributes in the Qur’ān. While some of them are within the scope of the mission of messenger used for other prophets, some of them are peculiar to Prophet Abraham which are unique for him both as a servant and as a messenger. In this study, as a prominent figure of the struggle of the unity (tawhīd), some of Prophet Abraham’s these attributes mentioned in the Qur’ān, especially the attributes of believers, which contain the moral principles that must be adopted during their communication with God Almighty and the members of the society they are in, will be elaborated on. Indeed, these attributes which are embodied in the personality of Abraham have important place in revealing the fundamental moral behavior of an exemplary and leading character and a distinguished servant of God.
