Abstract:

Öz XX. yüzyıl felsefesi söz konusu olduğunda, modernite karşıtlığıyla en çok dikkati çeken düşünürlerden biri de Max Horkheimer’dır. Öyle ki, Marksist gelenekten gelen düşünürün, bu bağlamda toplumsal yapıda var olan her türden kuşatıcı unsuru yoğun bir biçimde eleştirdiği görülür. Gündelik hayattaki sonuçları ve teorik içeriğindeki açmazlarıyla bilime ve dolayısıyla bilimin belirleyicisi olan pozitivizme yoğun eleştiriler getirmesinin ardında yatan gerçek de esasen bu felsefi duruşuyla yakından ilgilidir. Her ne kadar bu bilim eleştirileri genel felsefi anlayışının zorunlu bir sonucu olsa da ayrıntılı bir inceleme yapıldığında özellikle pozitivizme ve uzantılarına yöntemsel açıdan getirdiği eleştiriler, bilim felsefecileri için zengin bir literatürü barındırmaktadır. Anahtar Kelimeler: M. Horkheimer, Bilim, Pozitivizm. Abstract With his anti-modernity thinking, Max Horkheimer is one of the most notable intellectuals when the 20th century philosophy is mentioned. Indeed, it is seen that Max Horkheimer, the thinker who has Marxist background, intensely criticizes all kinds of encompassing elements existing in the structure of community. He intensely criticizes everyday life results and dilemmas of theoretical contents of science that determines the positivism. Actually, this reality is closely related to his philosophical stance. Although his science critiques are obligatory results of his general philosophical understanding, when they are examined in detail, his methodological critiques especially on positivism and its extensions host a rich literature for science philosophers.
