Küreselleşme sürecinin kentler bazında bir rekabet ortamı oluşturması mekân kullanım biçimlerini etkilemekte ve bu durum sermaye birikim mekânlarını meydana getirmektedir. Küresel rekabet aracı olarak görülen kentler çevresindeki diğer kentlerden ayrışmak adına yerel dinamiklerini vurgulamakta yahut modern göstergeler sunarak cazibe mekânı imgesini görünür kılmaktadır. Modernleşme göstergelerini yeni ve farklı kavramları çerçevesinde ele aldığımızda kentsel mekândaki biçimsel değişimleri kentsel yenileme kavramı ile değerlendirebilmekteyiz. Kavramın İstanbul Ayvansaray Mahallesi örneğindeki mekânsal dinamikleri ve insan unsuru bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Mekânın tarihi karakterinin bulunması ve mekânda yer alan kimlikli yapı stoğunun kentsel yenileme süreci kapsamında çeşitli değişim faaliyetlerine sahne olması söz konusu mahallenin araştırma sahası olarak incelenmesinde belirleyici olmuştur. Alan çalışması nitel araştırma kapsamında derinlemesine görüşme tekniği kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiş, bu kapsamda 50 kişi ile görüşülmüş ve kentsel yenileme sürecine dair yönlendirilen çeşitli sorularla katılımcıların konuya yönelik bilgisi, algısı ve beklentisi değerlendirilmiştir. Saha araştırmasına dahil olan grup esnaf, antrenör, sanat tarihçi, muhtar, garson, ev hanımı, öğretmen vd. olarak çeşitli meslek dallarına mensup kişilerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında elde edilen veriler ile küresel/ tarihi bir kent olan İstanbul’da gerçekleşen kentsel yenileme çalışmaları, mekânın asıl kullanıcıları olan yereldeki aktörlerin değişen/ dönüşen yaşam pratikleri ile mekân kullanım biçimlerindeki farklılaşma, işlevleri değişen dükkânlar ve konut alanları, sıklıkla vurgulanan fiyat değişimleri tarihsel dokunun bozulma tehlikesi bağlamında incelenmekte ve bu doğrultuda mevcut çalışma ile literatüre katkı sağlamak amaçlanmaktadır.
The fact that the globalization process creates a competitive environment on the basis of cities affects the use of place and this creates capital accumulation places. The cities, which are considered as global competitive instruments, emphasize their local dynamics in order to distinguish it from other cities around it, or make the image of the attraction visible by presenting modern indicators. When we consider modernization indicators within the framework of new and different concepts, we can evaluate the formal changes in urban place with the concept of urban renewal. The spatial dynamics and human element of the concept in the example of Istanbul Ayvansaray District constitutes the subject of this study. The presence of the historical character of the place and the fact that the building stock with the identity in the place was the scene of various change activities within the context of the urban renewal process was decisive in the study of the district in question. The field study has been realized by using the semi-structured interview interview technique within the context of qualitative research, 50 people were interviewed in this context and the knowledge, perception and expectation of the participants were evaluated with various questions about the urban renewal process. The group involved in the field research, shopkeepers, coaches, art historians, muhtar, waitresses, housewives, teachers, etc. They consist of people who belong to various professions. Urban renewal activities in Istanbul, which is a global / historical city, with the data obtained within the context of the study, emphasizing the elements in the changing / transforming life practices of the local actors who are the main users of the place, the differentiation in the ways of using the place, the shops and housing areas with changing functions, frequently emphasized price changes, It is examined in the context of the danger of deterioration of historical texture and in this direction, it is aimed to contribute to the literature with the current study.
