Özel gereksinimli bireyler yaşam kalitesi ve zorlu koşullar nedeniyle sağlık sistemi içerisinde kırılgan bir grubu oluşturmaktadır. Çevresiyle bir bütün olarak değerlendirdiğimizde toplum ve aile sağlığının korunması ve sürdürülmesinde kardeşler ve ebeveynlerin de dikkate alınması önemlidir. Bu derleme, özel gereksinimi olan çocukların kardeşlerinin gelişimleri üzerindeki olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerini ortaya koyarak Türkçe alan yazınına katkı sağlamak amacıyla yazılmıştır. Özel gereksinimi olan çocukların kardeşlerinin birçok olumsuz durumla baş etmek zorunda kaldıkları ve gelişimlerinin bu durumdan etkilendiği bilinmektedir. Özel gereksinimleri olan çocukların kardeşlerinin gelişimlerinin izlenmesi, oluşabilecek olumsuz durumların önlenmesi, olumlu etkilerinin desteklenmesi sağlığın sürdürülmesi açısından önemlidir. Çocuk sağlığı hemşireliğinin koruyucu, savunucu, sağlığı geliştirici rolleri ve aile merkezli, holistik bakım anlayışı kapsamında özel gereksinimleri bulunan çocukların değerlendirilmesi ve desteklenmesi sorumlulukları vardır. Çocuk ve ailenin bir bütün olarak değerlendirilerek rehabilitasyon sürecinin planlanması ve sürdürülmesi sağlık hizmetlerinin bununla ilişkili olarak geliştirilmesi gerekliliği görülmektedir.
Individuals with special needs form a vulnerable group within the health system due to quality of life and difficult conditions. When considering the environment as a whole, it is important that brothers and sisters and parents take into account in the preservation and maintenance of the health of society and the family. This collection was written in order to contribute to the Turkish field text by revealing the positive and negative effects of children with special needs on their brothers and sisters' development. It is known that children with special needs have brothers to deal with many negative situations and their development is affected by this situation. Monitoring the development of the brothers and sisters of children with special needs, preventing possible negative situations, supporting their positive effects, is important for the maintenance of health. Children’s health care has the responsibility to evaluate and support children with special needs within the framework of protective, defensive, health development roles and family-centered, holistic care understanding. The child and the family are considered as a whole and the planning and maintenance of the rehabilitation process is necessary to develop health care services in connection with it.
