Objective: Our research was carried out to determine the relationship between social support perception levels, state and continuity anxiety levels of women in the latent phase of labor (dilatation between 0 and 4 cm) and some variables. Method: The study is descriptive and was conducted between June 2017 and September 2018 in Tekirdağ Çorlu State Hospital Maternity Service. Sample selection was not made, and 245 women who volunteered to participate in the study constituted the sample of the study. The data of the study were collected using the personal information form developed by the researcher, the State Trait Anxiety Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. In order to evaluate the data, SPSS 22.0 package program was used, t test and One-Way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used tests for data. Spearman's Correlation Coefficient was used when examining the relationships between variables. Results: The average age of the women participating in the study was 25.95 ± 5.64 years, 49.4% had secondary education, 95.5% were married, 85.3% did not work in an income generating job. 89.4% of them work in an income-generating job and 69.0% perceive the family income level as medium. No statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of the multidimensional social support scale perceived by women in labor, family sub-dimension, friend sub-dimension, and special someone sub-dimensions and the state anxiety scale (p> 0.05). A statistically significant negative correlation was found between the mean scores of the continuity anxiety scale and the multidimensional perceived social support scale friend, someone special sub-dimension and the total score averages (p <0.05). Conclusion: In addition to midwife support at birth, it was concluded that having any family member or a woman's choice as a birth supporter would be effective in reducing anxiety.
