Turgay Kantürk, one of the literary artists of the 1980 generation, deals with the relationship of the individual with themselves and the world in the context of identity, loneliness, hanging on, awareness and being out of place in his stories that he bases on the structural qualities of the short-short story genre. One of his works built in this direction, ‘Kahraman’ [Hero] is the story of the individual confronting their subconscious at the stage of becoming themselves. For the character of the story, who aims to become an active agent against the structure of the social lifestyle that banalizes, the fear and concern she feels towards the unknown and the unfamiliar while confronting herself and her subconscious do not have an extent that would create a conflict. In contrast, the fact that the hope and desire of the character of the story to self-actualize are high allows her values of ipseity to prevail. The value/entity that allows the character of the story to live her own story, on the other hand, is her subconscious purported to be a hero on the symbolic level.
