Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the impact of digital story prepared using the key word method from memory-supporting strategies according to the ASSURE teaching design model by applying the high school 5th grade students on the attitude of foreign language lessons. This research was carried out by a mixed research method in which quantitative and qualitative research methods were used together. The working group, determined by this method, consists of 50 students who study in the 5th grade in a secondary school that operates according to the Ministry of National Education in the 2018-2019 centers of the province of Konya. During the research process, the courses in the experiment group are carried out with digital history activities, while in the control group only the existing 5th class curriculum is applied. The scale of attitude towards the English lesson was used in the collection of Nicel data. In the analysis of the quality data, a semi-configured conversation form was used, which provided validity reliability by taking the expert opinion.In the analysis of the quality data, the test was used, and in the analysis of the quality data, the visual analysis technique was used. According to the findings obtained from quantitative data, there was a statistically meaningful difference in the benefit of the experiment group. According to the findings obtained from the quality data, the conclusion has been that the digital history prepared by the keyword method positively affects the attitudes of the participants towards the English course in the sensual cognitive and behavioral dimension. The findings obtained from the quality data are also supporting the quantum findings. In this context, digital stories prepared with the memory-backed strategy method can be used in creating a positive attitude towards a foreign language and in developing language skills.
