Abstract:

Aim: The changes that have occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic have had direct effects on the educational lives of university students. In this context, the education process mainly continued online. For this reason, it is important to understand how university students evaluate this process. Method: In this research, the reflections of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives, feelings and thoughts, family relations of university students and the efficiency/effectiveness of online courses were examined using the descriptive scanning model. 185 social work undergraduate students who continue online education during the pandemic process were included in the study. In the statistical analysis of the data, numbers and percentages were examined; the content analysis was performed on open-ended questions. Results: In the research findings, information about the health problems of the students during the Covid-19 process, the changes that the students encountered in their lives with the pandemic, the definitions of emotions that emerged with the pandemic, the way they make sense of life during the pandemic process, the changing family relationships and the opinions of the students about online lessons were included. Conclusions and Suggestions: The results of the research reveal that not only the educational life of the students, but also their psychosocial life, family life, family relationship structures, and economic life are affected during the pandemic process. These results show that students need various supports to solve the problems they encounter. On the other hand, it is considered important to develop the technological competencies and opportunities of both students and instructors and to re-evaluate the functions of educational institutions.
