Dünya genelinde nüfusun artması beslenme sorunlarını da beraberinde getirmektedir. Yaklaşık olarak her 9 kişiden 1’i açlık çekmektedir.
Increased population in the world also brings food problems with it. Approximately 1 in 9 people suffer from hunger. Eatable insects have high biomass and biodiversity. It is rich in high-quality proteins, unsaturated fats, vitamins, minerals and bioactive substances. It requires fewer food, water and area to be grown than other animal resources. The biological waste made by humans and animals can also be used to grow insects. Bioactive substances obtained from insects can be used to improve health and prevent diseases. Therefore, many firms are producing insect products and there is a $55 million market. In addition to the benefits of nutritious insects, they carry microbiological, parasitological and allergic risks. Therefore, certain rules should be observed during their production. To determine these standards, it is necessary to increase scientific research, develop legislation and establish international policies.
