ARGOLAŞMIŞ ESKİ TÜRKÇE BİR KELİME: GACI

Türkiye Türkçesinde argolaşıp “kadın, dost, metres, sevgili” anlamlarıyla kullanılan “gacı” kelimesinin çeşitli şive ve ağızlarda “ağabey, hanım, küçük kardeş vs .” anlamlarına rastlanıyor. Çeşitli şive ağızlarda geçen kada ~ kadı ~ kadi “yenge, ağabey, küçük kardeş” , kağa ~ keke “ağabey, küçük kardeş” gibi kelimeler birbiriyle karşılaştırılınca bu kelimelerin, Eski Türkçede akrabalık bildiren “ka” köküyle ilgisi ortaya çıkıyor.Bu durumda kada kelimesi, ka + ada(~ ede ~ edi “ata, baba”) kağa ~ keke kelimesi , ka + aka~ (eke “ağabey, abla”) kacı ~ gacı kelimesi, ka+ açı ~ ( eçi “abla , hanım” ) birleşiminden ortaya çıkmış olabilir.
