Abstract:

Objectives: In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Health Personnel-Patient-Relationship Questionnaire to Turkish and determine its validity and reliability. Materıals and Methods The study, designed in a methodological type, was carried out with 320 nurses in online format between 01.09.2020-01.03.2021. The Turkish form of "Sociodemographic Information Form" and "Health Personnel-Patient-Relationship Questionnaire" were used to collect the data. The construct validity of the scale whose language and content validity was applied was determined by confirmatory factor analysis and explanatory factor analysis. The reliability of the scale was evaluated using the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient for all items and sub-dimensions, the split halt method, and the item-whole correlation. Results: Content validity index value of the scale was found to be 0.92. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, it was determined that the values were below acceptable limits and explanatory factor analysis was performed. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the single factor structure is valid in Turkish language and culture. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scale is 0.92 for the total scale. Conclusion: It has been determined that the 16-item and one-sub-dimension structure of the Health Personnel-Patient-Relationship Questionnaire is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used in the self-assessment of the communication skills of healthcare professionals in Turkish language and culture.
