Abstract:

Health literature is closely related to situations such as management of chronic diseases, healthy life consciousness, increased health expenditure, premature death, premature childhood loss. In addition, in recent period, the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, the correct implementation of the task of each individual in society in matters such as control, is again within the scope of health literature. Each candidate to become a health staff takes the role of a health trainer and consultant to the people who remain outside the health sector in the society. Therefore, it is extremely important that individuals studying in the field of health have a high level of health literature. This study was carried out with the aim of determining the level of health literature of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences at a foundation university. The study was conducted by 198 students. Statistical analysis used spearman correlation analysis, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests. The study found that women’s level of health readiness was higher than men, and that the level of health readiness increased as the class was up. In general, it is achieved that the level of health reading is good. Students say they are on the average level of interpretation of health policies. Those with chronic illness, not according to those and those who regularly take the drug have not received a high score that will make a statistically significant difference from those who do not regularly take the drug. These people need to be informed to be more careful in order to improve their health and quality of life. It may also be recommended that all health sciences faculty students receive a general health management course that will enable them to evaluate the functioning of the health system and health policies.
