Abstract:

The known Covid-19 (Coronavirus) disease, which occurred in the Chinese state of Hubei in the last months of 2019, has affected the entire world from 2020. In the early stages of the disease's spread, there was a complexity of information about the ways of protecting against the virus. Especially in Turkey, the twilight of wearing a mask has often been the subject of discussion on many issues both in the media and social spaces, as well as whether the gloves work or not. And then T.C. The Ministry of Health has published public spots covering Covid-19 disease on the official website and various media channels in order to raise awareness by providing information to the public. Public spot is a film and sound of informative and educational quality created in order to benefit the public. In the work, T.C. The public spots published by the Ministry of Health on the official website of the Covid-19 disease are intended to be analyzed on the basis of the indicative method. These public spots were studied on the basis of five different indicators systems developed by Roland Barthes, known for his work in the field of indicators, to reveal the structure of the narratives (Enigmatic Code, Fire Code, Action Code, Symbolic Code, and Cultural Code). By moving from the indicators in the public spots captured, it was concluded that the code systems that Barthes revealed strengthened the meaning of the text.
