Abstract:

Yaşar Kemal (1923-2015), whose works have been translated into more than forty languages, is a master novelist who has an important place in Turkish literature. Yaşar Kemal, whose real name is Kemal Sadık Gökçeli, has many stories and novels. Ince Memed, published in 1955, Yer Demir Gök Bakır (1963), Ağrıdağı Efsanesi (1970), Demirciler Çarşısı Cinayeteti (1973) and Yılanı Öldürseler (1976) are some of his most widely published novels. In his works, Yaşar Kemal mostly deals with Anatolian people. He presents the multicultural structure of Anatolia to the reader. In this study, two different types of women in Yaşar Kemal's novel "Yılanı Öldürseler" are analysed. Despite the duties of these two types of women that bring them to a common denominator; the result of their drifting in different directions is studied. In this study, in which qualitative research methods are used, the effect of psychological pressure on multiple lives is examined and the relevant work of the author is taken as a basis.
