Abstract:

It is very important that the tests and analyses required to diagnose the diseases are accurate and reliable. The quality of medical device to be selected has a great role in getting accurate and reliable results. Hospital and laboratory managers should make the right and most appropriate choice for the medical device they will supply. One of the medical devices used in hospitals and laboratories is a blood gas device. Blood gas device used to determine respiratory problems, the functionality of the lungs in oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange, possible imbalances in oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood, metabolic disorders and acid-base imbalances is one of the devices used by health institutions. In this study, nine different criteria were evaluated together with the financial criterion in the selection of the blood gas device to be used in the laboratory. Considering nine different criteria that contradict each other, it will be difficult to decide on the most appropriate blood gas device. Therefore, a solution was sought for the problem with multi-criteria Decision-making methods. The aim of this study is to choose the most suitable blood gas device needed for a laboratory. For this purpose, nine evaluation criteria and two blood gas devices were evaluated using Fuzzy VIKOR and Fuzzy EDAS method. The ranking made by both methods was compared and the results were the same.
