Objective: The present study was planned to determine self-sufficiency adolescents perceived and in order to determine the factors affecting self- sufficiency planed . Materials and Method: The research was descriptive. The study population consisted of a total of 450 students educating at level II in Türkiyem primary school in the city centre of Malatya. Data from this study was collected with form of information and Middleschool Self-sufficiency Scale. A p value <0.05 was used to indicate statistical significance. T-test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), Kruskal Wallis, pertentage and mean were used for comparisions. Results: 34.8% of the students included in the study were at 8.level, 31.4% at 7.level. The mean age of the students was 13.0 ± 0.9 years and 51.2% were males. 62.6% of the students stated that their fathers graduated from primary school and 42.9% of them stated that their mothers graduated from primary school. It was determined that 85.7% of the students’ mothers were housewifes and 38.3% of the students’ fathers were self-employments. It was determined that students received the lowest from the subscale ‘‘interpersonel relationship’’ and the highest from the subscale ‘‘potential for substance abuse’’ of self-sufficiency scale Conclusion: We can encourage students to increase their success in school and take part more in social activities to improve their self-sufficiency
