Küresel Covid-19 salgınının ülke ekonomileri üzerinde önemli etkileri olmuştur. Türkiye’de Covid-19 salgını kaynaklı ekonomik krizden etkilenen sektörden biri de ulaştırma ve depolama sektörüdür. Bu amaçla, Covid-19 salgınının BIST Ulaştırma ve depolama sektöründe işlem gören şirketlerin maliyet yönetim etkinliğine etkisi Veri Zarflama Analizi ile araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın ulaştırma ve depolama sektöründe etkinlik ölçümü yapılan önceki çalışmalardan farkı, maliyet girdileri kullanılarak maliyet yönetim etkinliğinin ölçülmesidir. Araştırma sonucunda, BIST Ulaştırma ve Depolama sektöründe işlem gören işletmeler arasında istikrarlı bir şekilde maliyet etkinliği sağlayan çok az işletme bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Etkin olmayan işletmelerin etkinlik kazanmaları için iyileştirme yapılması gereken en önemli girdi değişkeninin faaliyet giderleri olduğu görülmüştür.

Effective cost control in times of crisis will enable businesses to adapt to the crisis in a short time and get rid of the crisis with the least destruction. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the cost management efficiency of companies operating in the transportation and storage sector. For this purpose, the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the cost management efficiency of companies listed in the BIST Transportation and storage sector was investigated by Data Envelopment Analysis. The difference of this study from previous studies that measure efficiency in the transportation and storage sector is to measure cost management efficiency by using cost inputs. As a result of the research, it has been determined that there are very few businesses that consistently provide cost effectiveness among businesses listed in the BIST Transportation and Storage sector. It has been seen that the most important input variable that needs improvement in order for inefficient businesses to gain efficiency is operating expenses.
