Ülkemiz kaynaklı sıtma olguları Plasmodium vivax türüne ait olup bu tür dışında tespit edilen sıtma türleri importe vaka olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Ülkemizde, Plasmodium vivax'ın eliminasyonundan sonra en sık rastlanılan sıtma etkeni Plasmodium falciparum' dur. Bu olgu sunumu, sıtmanın endemik olduğu tropikal veya subtropikal bölgelere iş veya seyahat amacı ile giden kişilerde Plasmodium falciparum enfeksiyon riskinin azaltılmasında bölgeye uygun profilaksi alımı ve kişisel koruyucu kullanımının enfeksiyon riskinin azaltılmasındaki önemine dikkat çekmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
The malaria cases originating from ourc ountry belong to Plasmodium vivax and the types of malaria detected outside of this type are considered as importable cases. In our country, Plasmodium falciparum is the most common malaria agent after elimination of Plasmodium vivax. In this case report, we aimed to draw attention to the importance of the use of prophylaxis and reduction of the risk of infection in reducing the risk of infection to reduce the risk of Plasmodium falciparum infection in people who travel to tropical or subtropical are as where malaria is endemic.
