Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to explore the reasons for the transition to the open high school of high school students who are studying in the day-to-day teaching according to their parents and students’ opinions. The research quality is designed in the case study model from the research patterns. The study’s work group consists of 10 students and 10 different students who pass to open high school in the district of Kırklareli. The data of the study was collected by face-to-face conversations with a semi-configured interview form. In the analysis of data, visual analysis and content analysis techniques have been used. According to the research results, one of the important factors in the transition from day-to-day teaching to open high school is central university exam. Students are switching to the open high school to be better prepared for the exam, especially in the last year of high school. As a reason, they show that open high school is advantageous, the school is inefficient, the cause of time losing and fatigue. Parents generally support students to go to the open high school and find it positive to guide students to the open high school. According to the results of the study, it is recommended to establish a balance between the educational activities carried out in the educational institutions and the central exams. In addition, taking into account the factors that lead to the transition from daily teaching to the open teaching system, the high school final class teaching program should be reorganized.
