DİJİTAL ÇAĞDA TÜKETİM VE ALGISAL ESKİTME: SOSYAL MEDYA FENOMENLERİ ÜZERİNDEN BİR İNCELEME

Dijitalleşme ve tüketim günümüz toplumuna hâkim olan iki temel kavramdır. Bireylere tükettikçe mutlu olabilecekleri ve toplum içerisindeki statülerini tükettikleri metalar ile oluşturabilecekleri tüketim kültürü tarafından salık verilmektedir. İnternet teknolojisinin ortaya çıkması ve bireylerin gündelik yaşamlarını ele geçirmeye başlamasıyla birlikte, bireyler tüketim metalarına bir adım daha da yakınlaşmışlardır. Bireyler tüketmek istedikleri metalara internet sayesinde zaman ve mekân sınırı olmaksızın erişebilmektedir. İnternet ile birlikte ortaya çıkan alışveriş siteleri, uygulamaları ve sosyal medya platformları sayesinde bireylerin tüketim güdüleri sürekli olarak körüklenmektedir. Sahip olduğu ürün kullanım özelliğini kaybetmeden yenisine sahip olma çabası içerisinde olan bireylerin zihinlerinde ürünler algısal olarak eskitilmektedir. Kitle iletişim araçları bu noktada çok önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Sosyal medya ile birlikte ortaya çıkan sosyal medya fenomenleri aralıksız yaptıkları paylaşımlar ile bireyleri sürekli olarak tüketime teşvik etmekte ve kullanım özelliğine sahip, eskimemiş ürünlerin yerine yenilerinin alınması körüklenmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda, dijital çağda tüketim kavramı literatür taraması ile ele alınarak, sosyal medya platformu olan Instagram fenomenlerinin paylaşımları algısal eskitme çerçevesinde incelenecektir. Çalışmada, sosyal medya fenomenlerinin yaptıkları paylaşımların bireylerde algısal eskitmeyi ortaya çıkararak ihtiyaç dışı tüketim davranışına teşvik edip etmediği tartışılacaktır.

Digitalization and consumption are two fundamental concepts that dominate today’s society. It is given to individuals by the consumption culture that they can be happy as they consume and create their status within the society with the metals they consume. With the emergence of Internet technology and the beginning of individuals to take over their daily lives, individuals have become a step closer to their consumption methods. Individuals can access the metals they want to consume through the internet without a time and space limit. Thanks to the shopping sites, apps and social media platforms that appear along with the internet, the consumer motivations of individuals are constantly shrinking. In the minds of individuals who are trying to have a new without losing the use of the product they have, the products are perceptively exhausted. Mass communication means have a very important impact at this point. The social media phenomena that arise along with social media are constantly encouraging individuals to consume, and the use of new products with the characteristics of use is prompted. In accordance with the purpose of the study, the concept of consumption in the digital age will be addressed by literary scan, the sharing of the phenomena of Instagram, the social media platform, will be studied in the framework of perceptive agitation. The study will discuss whether the social media phenomena share their perceptive aging in individuals and promote unnecessary consumer behavior.

Digitalization and consumption are two basic concepts that dominate today's society. It is imposed by the consumer culture that individuals can be happy as they consume and achieve their status in society with commodities they consume. With the advent of the Internet technology, individuals have become one step closer to consumption commodities. As a result of the Internet, individuals can access the commodities they want to consume without any time and space limits. The products are perceptually obsoleted in the minds of individuals who are trying to have a new one before it loses usage feature. Mass media has a very important effect at this point. The social media phenomena constantly encourage individuals to consume with the posts they make, and to replace the old products that have still usage characteristics with the new ones. As a part of this study, the literature on the concept of consumption in the digital age is reviewed and the posts of Instagram phenomena are examined within the framework of perceived obsolescence. In the study, it will be discussed whether the posts of social media phenomena reveal perceived obsolescence in individuals.
