Özet:

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Following and treating with the diagnosis of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (MAK) in the pediatric age group of patients, to investigate the effects of periodically used medications on long-term intraocular pressure (GIB). The study included 230 cases (Group I) and 255 healthy cases (Group II) under the age of 16 who received MAC treatment for less than 16 years, 5 years or more. The patient's HIV measurements were performed by non-contact tonometry. The average GIB values of both groups were compared statistically. The average age of the studies was 9.3±2.0 in Group I and 9.1±2.1 in Group II. In Group I, the period of treatment for patients with the cause of MAC was an average of 5.3±0.7 years. The average GIB in Group I is 13.7±3.1 mmHg, the left is 13.7±2. 8 mmHg, while the average GIB in group II was 13.8±3.1 mmHg in the right favor and 13.9±3.0 mmHg in the left favor. It was found that there was no statistically significant difference between the average GIB values of the two groups (P>0.05). In Group I, 11 patients (4.8 percent) observed a temporary increase in the GIB associated with the use of corticosteroids during treatment. All of these patients returned to normal after the corticosteroid was cut. RELATED AND RESULTATED: In pediatric cases, periodic medical treatment given with MAC diagnosis has not been shown to have a permanent effect on HIV over the long term. We consider that close tracking is important to notice the potential acute GIB rise in these patients.
