Abstract:

The children's magazine "Love a Bird" published by the Ministry of Family, Work and Social Services (AÇSHB) is heard and visually published for the benefit of all children without any obstacle. The magazine is free of charge sent to the sites of love houses and children's houses where children are protected and cared for by the state. Values are the facts that influence the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of individuals. The behavior of individuals is formed in the early ages. It is therefore important to give children the values properly, starting before school. At this point, the importance of family, pre- and post-school educational institutions, together with children’s magazines and children’s books, to gain values cannot be denied. This study aims to identify the values of stories, fairy tales and cartoons in literary kinds included in the numbers of the 2015-2020 children's magazine "Love a Bird". The method of document examination was used to determine values. The results of the study have achieved a total of 29 different values in 32 types of summer. It has been found that 29 different values have been listed in a total of 226 times. Among these values, love, kindness, patriotism and sharing values have become the most prevalent values. Peace, tolerance, national unity, fairness, health, cleansing and patience have been the lowest values. In this context, it is recommended that the contents of the literary kinds in the magazine communicated to the children under protection and care that are disadvantaged in terms of the acquisition of values in the family are enriched in terms of values and the values are taken into account when preparing the contents.
