Bu çalışmada Hyacinthus orientalis cv. ‘Jan Bos’ sümbül çeşidinin saksıda yetiştiriciliğinde topraktan uygulanan ve bir büyümeyi engelleyici olan ethephonun bitki boyu üzerine olan etkileri incelenmiştir. ‘Jan Bos’ sümbül çeşidine ethephon dikimden sonra bitki boyunun 7-10 cm olduğu dönemde topraktan sulama şeklinde 0, 250, 500 ppm dozlarında (150 ml/saksı) uygulanmıştır. Toprak ıslatma şeklinde uygulanan ethephonun çiçeklenme zamanı, çiçek genişliği, çiçek uzunluğu, çiçek ömrü, bitki boyu ve yaprak boyu ile yaprakların birim alandaki klorofil miktarı üzerine olan etkileri incelenmiştir. Ethephon uygulamasının üretim sonrası (ev-ofis) koşullardaki etkisini belirleyebilmek için, serada yetiştirilen sümbüller satış aşamasına geldiklerinde (sap üzerindeki çiçeklerin %50’sinin açtığı dönem) sıcaklığı 20 °C’de olan laboratuvar ortamına alınıp burada ölçüm ve gözlemlere devam edilmiştir.Toprak ıslatma şeklinde yapılan uygulama sonucunda en kısa bitki boyu 500 ppm ethephon uygulamasından elde edilmiş, bu bitkiler 8.17 cm ile kontrole göre %35 oranında daha kısa olmuştur. ‘Jan Bos’ sümbül çeşidinde 250 ppm ethephon uygulaması da bitki boyunu kısaltmış (8.88 cm), kontrole göre %29 oranında daha kısa bitki boyu elde edilmiştir. Uygulanan ethephon yaprak boyunu da kısaltmış, çiçek ömrü üzerine ise herhangi bir etki yapmamıştır. Ayrıca ethephon uygulamaları yapraklarda birim alandaki klorofil miktarını arttırmış, kontrolden elde edilen klorofil miktarı 51.49 CCI iken, en yüksek klorofil içeriği 80.92 CCI ile 500 ppm ethephon uygulamasının yapıldığı grupda belirlenmiştir. Ethephon uygulamalarının üretim sonrası koşullardaki etkisi devam ederek, en kısa bitki boyu 12.5 cm ile 500 ppm ethephon uygulamasından elde edilmiştir.
In this study Hyacinthus orientalis cv. The effects of the "Jan Bos" symbolic variety on the plant length of ethephon, which is applied from the soil and preventing a growth in the cultivation in the seed, have been studied. The symbolic variety of 'Jan Bos' after planting ethephon was applied in 0.250, 500 ppm doses (150 ml/s) in the period when the plant's height was 7-10 cm. The effect of ethephon applied in the form of soil moisture on the flowering time, flowering width, flowering length, flowering life, plant length and leaf length and leafs on the amount of chlorophyll in the unit area have been studied. To determine the effect of the ethephon application in post-production (home-office) conditions, when the symbols grown in the greenhouse came to the sale stage (the period in which 50% of the flowers on the soap opened) the temperature was taken to the laboratory environment at 20 °C and the measurements and observations were continued here.The application in the form of soil moisture resulted from the shortest plant length of 500 ppm of the ethephon application, these plants were less than 35% compared to control with 8.17 cm. The application of 250 ppm ethephon in the 'Jan Bos' symbolic variety also shortened the plant length (8.88 cm), and the plant length was obtained 29% shorter according to control. The applied ethephon has also shortened the length of the leaves, and has no effect on the life of the flower. Furthermore, ethephon applications have increased the amount of chlorophyll in the unit area in the leaves, the amount of chlorophyll obtained from the control is 51.49 CCI, while the highest chlorophyll content is 80.92 CCI and 500 ppm is determined in the group where ethephon applications are performed. The effect of ethephon applications on post-production conditions continued, the shortest plant length was obtained from the ethephon application of 12.5 cm to 500 ppm.
In this study, effect of ethephon which is a plant growth retardant as soil drench on plant height of Hyacinthus orientalis cv. ‘Jan Bos’ grown in pots was investigated. Ethephon substrate drenches, 150 ml/pot, consisted of 0, 250 and 500 ppm applied when shoots were 7-10 cm. Effect of ethephon on the flowering time, flower width and lenght, flower life, plant height, leaf length and chlorophyll content of leaves were determined. Plants were placed to the laboratuary (20 °C) at the sales stage (when 50% of flowers on the stem opened) to determine changes occur on the plant height. The shortest plant height was 8.17 cm obtained from the 500 ppm ethephon treatment and was 35% shorter than control. Concenration of 250 ppm ethephon resulted in 8.8 cm plant height and was 29% shorter than untreated control. Ethephon applications also reduced leaf lenght and had no effect on the flower life. Ethephon treatments increased the leaf relative chlorophyll content. The highest chlorophyll content was 80.92 CCI and obtained with 500 ppm ethephon application, while that of controls was around 51.49 CCI. The effects of etephon on plant height were similar and continued under postharvest conditions in which the shortest plant height (12.5 cm) was obtained with 500 ppm ethephon treatment.
