OKUL MÜDÜRLERİNİN KAPSAYICI LİDERLİK DAVRANIŞLARI İLE HOFSTEDE’NİN ULUSAL KÜLTÜR BOYUTLARI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Abstract:

Kapsayıcı liderlik, yeni fikir ve önerilere açık olmayı, takipçilerin ilgi ve ihtiyaçlarını önemsemeyi, sürekli desteklemeyi, ulaşılabilir olmayı ve takipçilere zaman ayırabilmeyi yaşam felsefesi haline getiren bir liderlik stilidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı okul müdürlerin kapsayıcı liderlik davranışları ile Hofstede’nin ulusal kültür boyutları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında Diyarbakır Merkez Sur ilçesinde görev yapan 1381 öğretmen, örneklemini ise evren içerisinden basit seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 356 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Kapsayıcı liderlik davranışlarının alt boyutlarında; adalet, iletişim ve eylem, tanıma ve destek boyutlarında " sıklıkla " davrandığını, bencillik ve saygısızlık boyutunda ise " nadiren " davrandığı saptanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin algılarına göre bireysel kültür değerleri alt boyutlarında ise uzun erimlilik " yüksek düzeyde " olduğu; belirsizlikten kaçınma ve kolektivizm "orta düzeyde" olduğu; erillik ve güç mesafesi "düşük düzeyde" olduğu saptanmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon analizinde elde edilen bulgular ışığında kapsayıcı liderlik boyutları ile bireysel kültür değerlerinin alt boyutları arasında düşük düzeyde bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan regresyon analizi sonucunda ise kapsayıcı liderlik boyutları ile bireysel kültür değerlerinin alt boyutlarını çok düşük düzeyde de olsa yordadığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayalı olarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

A comprehensive leadership is a leadership style that makes it a philosophy of life to be open to new ideas and suggestions, to pay attention to the interests and needs of followers, to constant support, to be accessible and to spend time with followers. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the comprehensive leadership behaviors of school managers and the national cultural dimensions of Hofstede. The universe of research is formed by 1381 teachers who worked in the Diyarbakır Central Sur district in the 2020-2021 educational year, and 356 teachers who were selected with a simple, unselect sample method from within the universe. In the lower dimensions of their captivating leadership behavior, they behave “often” in the dimensions of justice, communication and action, recognition and support, and in the dimensions of selfishness and disrespect, they behave “redly”. According to the teachers’ perceptions, the individual cultural values are underdimensional and the long erosion is "high"; the avoidance of uncertainty and collectivism are "mediate"; the distance between erosion and power is "low". In light of the findings obtained in the correlation analysis, it has been found that there is a low-level relationship between the dimensions of comprehensive leadership and the subdimensions of individual cultural values. The regression analysis has found that the comprehensive leadership dimensions and the lower dimensions of individual cultural values are at a very low level. Recommendations were made based on the results of the research.

Inclusive leadership is a leadership style that makes it a life philosophy to be open to new ideas and suggestions, to care about the interests and needs of the followers, to support them continuously, to be accessible and to spare time for the followers. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between school principals' inclusive leadership behaviors and Hofstede's national culture dimensions. The population of the study consists of 1381 teachers working in Diyarbakır's central Sur district in the 2020-2021 academic year, and the sample consists of 356 teachers selected from the population by simple random sampling method. In the sub-dimensions of inclusive leadership behavior; It has been determined that he behaves "frequently" in the dimensions of justice, communication and action, recognition and support, and "seldom" in the dimensions of selfishness and disrespect. According to teachers' perceptions, in the sub-dimensions of individual cultural values, long-range is "high level"; uncertainty avoidance and collectivism is "moderate"; masculinity and power distance were found to be "low". In the light of the findings obtained from the correlation analysis, it was determined that there is a low level relationship between the dimensions of inclusive leadership and sub-dimensions of individual cultural values. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that inclusive leadership dimensions and individual culture values predicted the sub-dimensions, albeit at a very low level. Recommendations were made based on the research results.
